Resort Overview
The best feature of this resort is location, location, location. Otter Rock is just north of Newport is situated on the headlands offering spectacularly dramatic Oregon Coast views. The Inn at Otter Crest is an oceanfront hotel with 35 acres of pristine forested and landscaped grounds, striking ocean views, nature trails, tide pools teeming with life and resident Harbor seals on the rocks that can be viewed from the rooms and front lawn. Whale watching is another popular activity on site during seasons. The Otter Crest tide pools are abundant with sea life at low tide every day and can be accessed by private stairway form the Inn. Get a tide schedule at check in. A short walk takes you to Devil’s Punchbowl (a collapsed sea cave), Yaquina Head light house, or Beverly Beach ( a great place to pick up agates and fossils). Otter Rock is also home to the country’s western-most winery. Established in 1997 this small winery has gained national recognition for their unique method of fermenting wines under the ocean’s salt spray. And don’t forget the food! Seafood lovers can get their fix here. Try the chowder at Mo’s Seafood Restaurant. The Inn at Otter Crest’s lowest rooms are located on a small point about 100 feet above the ocean. Then the rest of them continue a few hundred feet up the hillside. All units have private ocean balconies. The suites feature fireplaces, and living and dining areas. Most have kitchenettes or full kitchens. Located on the Inn’s 35 acres is a children’s playground, an acre-sized grass lawn for your yard games and events, a large heated outdoor pool with Jacuzzi and two saunas, an outdoor tennis court, fitness center, a picnic area with barbeques, a nature preserve and private beach access. Owners can choose what he/she wants for design so each may be slightly different. The parking lot is removed from the units, so there are golf carts available to haul you and your luggage to your place. But you can walk if you want the exercise.
