Resort Overview
The Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club is located south of Kailua-Kona, on the island’s sunny leeward coast. A favorite playground for residents and vacationers alike, the Kona Coast is drier and sunnier, perfect weather for growing rich coffee and macadamia nuts. The ‘Big Island’ is the youngest and largest island of the Hawaiian chain, powerful volcanoes still spew fiery lava into the sea adding new acreage. Five volcanic mountains, two of which are still active, make up the island’s 4,000 square miles. It is an island of many contrasts: parched, barren lava fields and hillsides abloom with wild orchids and exotic flowers; cool uplands and lush rain forests with breathtaking waterfalls; busy tourist towns and quiet villages where church services are held in the Hawaiian language.
